Explainers

I’m someone who has an unhealthy amount of bookmarks synced across 4 devices, splitting them up into different sections with a short blurb allows me to see what is useful for what.

This is a collection of ‘explainers’ created by people far smarter than me who pick a something complex and describe it in great details using pretty straightforward language.

I’ll keep addign to these when I find new interesting topics:

  • GPS

Provides an easy to understand overview of how GPS works with some great interactive diagrams.

Much more information has been added since I first read this piece, so ofcourse I’ll be back 🙂

  • Turing Machines

During uni I became obsessed with 2 things: Conway’s game of life and the Turing test.

This guy has built a faithful copy of Turing’s pre-war design, although using modern electronic parts and a whiteboard pen ofcourse. This website & YouTube videos can be a great introduction to personal projects for aspiring computer scientists & engineers.
